After an iron infusion, when should you call? Call 911 right away for trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or chest pain. Call your doctor or clinic for a fever above 38.5 °C, symptoms getting worse after 48 hours, or redness and swelling where the IV was. Bring it up at your next visit if you're still tired weeks later, or something new starts. If you're not sure, call. Know your numbers. Bring them to your doctor.
